This tour requires an early start because there's lots to do during this day trip. Pick-up from your hotel will be at 07:00 and first stop will be at the War Cemetery on the outskirts of Kanchanaburi, where your English-speaking guide will join you.

This Cemetery contains the remains of 6,982 Australian, Dutch and British war prisoners who lost their lives during the construction of the Death Railway. It's one of the focal points of the annual ANZAC Day services here in Thailand, along with Hellfire Pass.

A short drive from the War Cemetary will take you to the historic Bridge over the River Kwai made famous by the French author Pierre Boulle. Unfortunately, Monsieur Boulle had never been to Kanchanaburi or he would have known that the railway does not cross the River Kwai.

It actually crosses the Mae Klong River. When the movie came out, Thailand faced something of a problem.  Thousands of tourists came flocking to see the Bridge over the River Kwai and they didn't actually have one.  So, with admirable lateral thinking, they simply renamed the river. The Mae Klong is now the 'Kwae Yai' or Big Kwai for several miles north of the confluence with the 'Kwae Noi' or Little Kwai, including the bit under the bridge. Here, you'll have time to wander across the bridge and to get plenty of good photos.

From Kanchanaburi to Hellfire Pass is another  hours drive and we'll stop for lunch at a local Thai restaurant just before you enter the Hellfire Pass Museum.

In the museum you'll have time to watch the video (7 mins) which backgrounds Hellfire Pass and the construction of the 'Death Railway' before walking down into Konyu Cutting where the memorial lies. Now, up the track again and you're off to the Tiger Temple.

On this tour you will not have opportunity to feed and play with the tiger cubs because this is done earlier in the afternoon. However, you will have plenty of time to enjoy the 'main event', which is the afternoon play time for the adult tigers down in the Tiger Canyon.

You will have a chance to have your piccie taken with a tiger in your lap, but you'll have to pay the temple extra for this.

When the tigers return from the canyon, your driver will be ready to return you to your hotel in Bangkok. Time to reflect on a great days outing for you and your group with Bangkok Day Tours.

Tour includes all admission charges, lunch, transport and tour guide. Feel free to tip the driver and guide as you see fit.
